The Dishes to Eat in Nairobi
By Mwende Mutuli Musau
The capital of Kenya, Nairobi, is one of the fastest-growing cities in Africa, which makes it the best place to embark on a Kenyan food escapade. “Nairobi” is a word from the nomadic Maasai tribe which translates to “cool waters,” in reference to the Nairobi River. This region became the East Africa Protectorate in 1899 during British colonial rule. When Kenya gained independence in 1963, Nairobi became the capital of the Republic of Kenya. The food scene is thriving right now. Here are the foods you should seek out when you visit.
